Friends of Animals is a no-kill shelter, often taking in animals who, through no fault of their own, are considered difficult to place. Some are simply old, others badly abused, injured or chronically ill, pregnant or traumatized.
While they wait for that special person who can provide a caring home for them, we ensure that they are happy, safe and secure.

I'm Pat
I'm probably a spaniel mix, but the crazy thing is I look just like a teeny, shrunk-down golden retriever. I was rescued from an abusive owner, so I'm understandably nervous about people. What I need is a calm and caring new mom or dad who's willing to earn my trust by getting to know me at my pace. I'm worth it, because I'm a genuinely sweet, devoted guy who just yearns to feel safe and loved.
I'm Lefty
I am the true definition of a gentleman. Even though I have a chronic allergic skin condition that causes patchy hair loss, I am in every respect a perfect dog. A handsome Pointer mix, I get along beautifully with both dogs and people, and I'm a calm, dignified fellow in all circumstances. Even though my condition requires medication and a weekly bath I bear it all with grace and dignity. If ever there was a guy who deserved a loving mom or dad, it's definitely me.
We're Frenchie and Cayenne
We're two purebred senior poodles. Frenchie is the handsome white fellow and Cayenne is the sweet and cuddly apricot guy. Our owner died and her relatives didn't want us, so we're a little confused about what happened to our longtime happy home. But even though we're seniors, we're brave and optimistic and we hope to find a loving home where we can stay together. If you have a place in your heart for two sweet, affectionate senior gentlemen, we can repay you with a whole lot of love and cuddling.
I'm Zorro
Can you tell why they called me Zorro? It's because I have a beautiful gray mask to go with my beautiful smile. I was rescued from Puerto Rico and it's pretty clear I've been through some scary experiences. I'm a sweet guy but very nervous and easily frightened, so I need a very calm, gentle and understanding home with someone who's willing to work with me to help me get over my fears.
